Crispy cauliflower florets coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter: In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in the water until you achieve a smooth batter.
  2. Coat the cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter and shake off any excess.
  3. Heat the oil: In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
  4. Fry the cauliflower: Place the battered cauliflower in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Mix the sauce: Whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha in a separate bowl.
  6. Toss in the sauce: Remove the fried cauliflower from the oil and toss in the sauce while warm.
  7. Serve with flair: Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute cornstarch with gluten-free all-purpose flour. To reheat leftovers, use the oven for best results.
