Crispy, golden shrimp coated with a creamy, spicy sauce, perfect for appetizers or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, garlic powder, and salt to create the flavorful Bang Bang sauce.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: Dredge the shrimp in cornstarch until they are fully coated—this will give them that delightful crunch once fried.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s hot enough to sizzle when you drop in the shrimp.
  4. Fry the Shrimp: Fry the shrimp in batches, cooking until they are golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side. Maintain the right oil temperature to achieve that perfect crunch!
  5. Drain the Shrimp: Once fried, drain the shrimp on paper towels and transfer them to a large bowl to keep them warm.
  6. Toss with Bang Bang Sauce: Pour the Bang Bang sauce over the warm shrimp and toss gently to coat each piece evenly in that creamy goodness.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions or chives before serving to add a pop of color and flavor—then it’s time to dig in!

Notes

For a lighter version, consider baking the shrimp instead of frying. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
