Crispy shrimp coated in a creamy, spicy sauce that strikes the perfect balance between crunchy and creamy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Season the Shrimp: In another bowl, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Coat each shrimp in cornstarch, ensuring they’re evenly covered for that irresistible crunch.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, allowing it to get nice and hot for frying.
  4. Fry the Shrimp: Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil, frying until golden and crispy—about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Drain the Shrimp: Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain them on paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  6. Coat the Shrimp in Sauce: Toss the crispy shrimp in the prepared sauce until they’re well coated, ensuring every bite is bursting with flavor.
  7. Serve Hot: Serve the Bang Bang Shrimp hot, garnished with chopped green onions for that fresh touch.

Notes

For an alternative, you can bake the shrimp instead of frying by tossing with sauce and baking at 400°F for about 10-12 minutes.
