Crispy fried shrimp coated in a rich, spicy-sweet sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Lettuce leaves (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce Mixture: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha (if using). Stir until well combined and set aside.
  2. Dredge the Shrimp: Toss the peeled and deveined shrimp in cornstarch until they are fully coated.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat, enough to submerge the shrimp.
  4. Fry the Shrimp: Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  5. Toss in Sauce: Gently toss the fried shrimp in the prepared sauce mixture.
  6. Serve with Style: Arrange the saucy shrimp on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Adjust the heat level by modifying sriracha usage or use a different sauce for variation. Great on its own or as part of a seafood platter.
