A comforting pasta dish with vibrant broccoli and a creamy cheese sauce, perfect for family dinners or quick meals.

  • 8 ounces pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water if needed later.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  3. Whisk together the milk and flour in a bowl until smooth. Pour this mixture into the skillet and bring it to a simmer, stirring frequently to prevent lumps.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan until both are melted and the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  5. Add the pasta and broccoli to the cheese sauce, stirring to combine everything well.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

For a kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
