A simple yet stunning dessert capturing the essence of summer with fresh blackberries in a flaky crust.

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
  • Additional sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Gently toss the fresh blackberries with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Carefully roll out the pre-made pie crust on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Pour the blackberry mixture into the center of the pie crust, leaving a 1-inch border.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the filling, creating pleats.
  6. Whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash.
  7. Brush the egg wash mixture over the crust and sprinkle with additional sugar.
  8. Pop the galette into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
