A smoky, spicy blackened salmon recipe that’s easy enough for a weeknight dinner but impressive enough for a dinner party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the spices in a small bowl: mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of each salmon fillet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet once hot.
  5. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges to squeeze over the top.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, fresh salad, or creamy coleslaw. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
