A delightful loaf of bread filled with sweet blueberries and creamy cream cheese, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prepare for baking.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the flour mixture gradually to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Mash the cream cheese in a small bowl until smooth.
  7. Fold in the smooth cream cheese and fresh blueberries gently into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a nutty twist, add walnuts or pecans. You can also use other berries instead of blueberries.
