A warm and comforting breakfast casserole that combines eggs, sausage, and cheese with bread for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 4 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, crumbling as it cooks, then drain excess fat.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl.
  4. Layer the cubed bread, sautéed sausage, and shredded cheese in a greased baking dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with fresh fruit or a dollop of sour cream. It can be made ahead and stored for up to 3 days.
