  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it’s golden brown.
  3. Cool the browned butter slightly.
  4. Combine the brown butter and sugar in a large bowl, whisking until blended.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract and eggs until glossy.
  6. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly into the batter.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Cool and cut the brownies into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with ice cream or a sprinkle of sea salt. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days or freeze for three months.
