  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it turns a lovely brown color and smells nutty.
  3. Remove the browned butter from heat and stir in the brown sugar and honey until well combined.
  4. Let the mixture cool slightly, then whisk in the flour, salt, and vanilla extract until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Fold in the chopped pistachios, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly, and sprinkle optional chopped nuts on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but slightly soft.
  8. Let cool completely before lifting the bars out and cutting them into squares.

Notes
