A comforting dish featuring tender chicken and orzo pasta in a rich, creamy garlic sauce with a kick of Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the diced chicken and generously sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing for about 4 minutes until they soften. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, allowing those vibrant flavors to meld.
  3. Cook the Orzo: Add the orzo to the skillet, followed by the chicken broth. Stir to combine, then bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pan and simmer for about 10–12 minutes until the orzo is tender and has absorbed the broth.
  4. Cream Integration: Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until everything is beautifully combined and creamy. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix until it’s heated through.
  5. Serve and Enjoy!: Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and flavor. Gather your loved ones and enjoy a plate of creamy deliciousness that feels like a warm hug!
