A delightful hybrid of chocolate chip cookies and fudgy brownies, these Chocolate Brookie Bars satisfy both cravings in every bite.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup brownie batter (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips to the dough, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Spread half of the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Pour the brownie batter over the cookie dough layer, ensuring a smooth, even spread.
  8. Spoon the remaining cookie dough over the brownie batter, spreading it gently.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the brownie layer.
  10. Allow the brookie bars to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes
