Delicious and nostalgic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisking together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. Creaming the butters and sugars until smooth.
  4. Adding the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Combining the dry ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stirring in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Dropping tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets, spaced a few inches apart.
  8. Baking for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cooling on wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
