A warm and gooey dessert with a molten chocolate center that creates a delightful experience with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease ramekins with butter and dust with flour to ensure they don’t stick.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and sugar in a separate bowl until pale and frothy.
  4. Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.
  5. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined to maintain the light texture.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
  8. Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then run a knife around the edges and invert onto plates.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm. Add vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds.
