  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  2. Cream together the softened cream cheese, butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt; then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar and milk for frosting, then drizzle over the cooled cookies.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for a smooth dough. For chewier cookies, remove when slightly underbaked.
