Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, filled with cinnamon and brown sugar, topped with creamy frosting.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients by adding melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, then spread it with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Shape the rolls tightly and cut them into slices.
  7. Let rolls rise again on a greased baking sheet for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  9. Frost warm rolls with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.

Notes

For a richer frosting, substitute milk with heavy cream. You can add chocolate chips or nuts for variations.
