A nostalgic and comforting meatloaf recipe with a sweet and tangy glaze, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, ketchup, egg, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Shape the combined mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  4. Whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce for the glaze.
  5. Spread the glaze over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Rest the meatloaf for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve the sliced meatloaf warm.

Notes

Pairs well with mashed potatoes and green beans. Add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
