Delightfully fluffy chocolate pancakes perfect for a cozy morning or special brunch with friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients in a bowl: all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients in another bowl: large egg, milk, and vegetable oil until combined.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just blended.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips to the batter.
  5. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with oil or butter.
  6. Cook the pancakes by pouring 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with syrup or extra chocolate chips as desired.

Notes

For perfectly fluffy pancakes, use room temperature ingredients and don’t overmix the batter.
