A hearty pasta dish combining savory smoked sausage and the creamy indulgence of ranch with a hint of barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the sausage and veggies in a large pot over medium heat with a splash of olive oil, for 5–7 minutes until tender.
  2. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  3. Combine the chicken broth, barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, and uncooked pasta; bring to a rolling boil.
  4. Simmer for 10–12 minutes until the pasta is al dente and has absorbed the flavors.
  5. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted into the creamy mixture.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh cilantro or parsley.

Notes
