A heartwarming pasta dish with bold and rich flavors, combining honey, cream, and savory Italian sausage for a comforting meal.

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up into chunks as it cooks.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and thyme, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the honey and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese, reducing the heat and letting it cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain when al dente and reserve a small cup of pasta water.
  8. Toss the pasta with the sauce until well coated, adding reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency if necessary.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh parsley as a garnish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
