A delightful explosion of flavor, this creamy Cajun sausage pasta combines smoky sausage with zesty Cajun seasoning in a rich creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Brown the sliced smoked sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sauté the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic until tender, around 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the Cajun seasoning and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  7. Create the creamy sauce by stirring in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and use turkey sausage.
