A comforting pasta dish enveloped in a creamy sauce with Cajun seasoning and Italian sausage, perfect for weeknight meals or impressing guests.

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, sliced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the sliced Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Sauté minced garlic in melted butter in the same skillet until fragrant.
  4. Add the heavy cream, stirring for a simmer.
  5. Stir in Cajun seasoning and adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Whisk in grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  7. Combine cooked penne pasta and sausage into the sauce, tossing gently to coat.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
