A comforting and creamy dish featuring juicy chicken and orzo pasta in a rich garlic butter pepper jack sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the orzo in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Sauté the chicken in melted butter over medium heat until golden brown, approximately 6-7 minutes per side. Let rest before slicing.
  4. Add the remaining butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, stirring to combine and letting it simmer.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and allow the sauce to thicken.
  7. Melt the pepper jack cheese into the sauce until fully integrated.
  8. Combine the cooked orzo with the sauce, tossing to coat.
  9. Plate the dish by arranging sliced chicken over the creamy orzo and garnishing with parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken beforehand and adjusting seasonings according to preference.
