A comforting one-pot meal combining steak and orzo in a rich, creamy garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sear the steak by heating the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Season the sirloin pieces with salt and pepper. Add the steak and sear for 3-4 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté the minced garlic in the pot with the drippings for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Toast the orzo pasta in the pot for 1-2 minutes to enhance flavor.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, bringing it to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the orzo is al dente.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese until combined into a creamy sauce.
  6. Return the seared steak to the pot. Heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For added spice, consider including red pepper flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
