A nostalgic dish featuring a skillet-cooked sirloin steak in a creamy garlic butter sauce served over jasmine rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the washed rice and beef broth, bringing it to a boil.
  3. While the rice cooks, season the sirloin steak generously with salt and pepper.
  4. In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce heat and melt the unsalted butter; add minced garlic and sauté.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream, allowing the sauce to simmer and thicken slightly.
  8. Slice the rested steak and toss it in the creamy garlic butter sauce.
  9. Place a serving of fluffy jasmine rice on each plate, top with steak, and garnish with parsley.
