A comforting pasta dish with creamy white cheddar and Cajun spices, combining tender steak and al dente penne for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until it’s perfectly al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Once done, drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  2. Sear the steak in a large skillet with olive oil, seasoned with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning until browned, around 5–7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic in the same skillet for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Create the sauce by pouring in the heavy cream and bringing it to a gentle simmer, stirring until it thickens slightly.
  5. Melt in the shredded white cheddar cheese, stirring until completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Combine the cooked penne and seared steak back into the skillet with the creamy sauce, tossing to coat everything evenly.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For leftovers, store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet with a splash of milk or reserved pasta water.
