  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Optional toppings: fresh berries, whipped cream, maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of French bread into thick slices.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Dip each slice of French bread into the egg mixture.
  5. Arrange the soaked bread in a greased baking dish.
  6. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle over the arranged bread.
  7. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until golden and set.
  8. Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on top until it forms a crispy crust.

Notes
