Delightful crispy churro bites made in an air fryer, combining a crunchy exterior with a soft center, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Bring to a boil: In a saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a roaring boil.
  2. Combine flour: Once boiling, quickly stir in the all-purpose flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Cool down: Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool. Then, mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pipe the dough: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small bits onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket.
  5. Give it a quick spritz: Lightly spray the churro bites with cooking spray for a golden-brown finish.
  6. Air fry the bites: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Create the cinnamon sugar mix: In a bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll and serve: Roll the cooled churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For best results, reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
