Delicious and easy churro bites made in an air fryer, combining the sweet flavor of vanilla with a crispy outer layer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Boil the mixture: In a saucepan, bring the water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil.
  2. Mix in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Cool the dough: Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time until smooth, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Prepare the piping bag: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe small bites onto parchment paper.
  7. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Spray the churro bites with cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket.
  9. Air fry the churro bites for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Prepare the coating: Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  11. Roll warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.

Notes

For longer storage, freeze and reheat in air fryer for crispy texture. Can experiment with different spices in the sugar coating.
