Delightful crab cakes with a crunchy exterior and soft, rich filling made from fresh crab meat, perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh crab meat
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, seasoned breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, finely chopped green onions, old bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything is beautifully intertwined.
  2. Form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Press them gently to maintain their shape.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, fry the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Use high-quality crab meat for the best flavor. If the mixture feels too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes before shaping.
