Slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth chicken served in whole wheat pitas with fresh veggies and creamy tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot and pour the chicken broth over them.
  2. Add the olive oil, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks right in the crockpot for maximum flavor absorption.
  5. Gently warm the pita breads in the oven or microwave so they’re soft and ready to be filled.
  6. Fill the pitas with the shredded chicken, diced tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and generously spoon on tzatziki sauce.
  7. Enjoy your culinary creation while it’s fresh and delicious!

Notes

Customize your toppings with avocado, feta cheese, or olives. If you want a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes.
