A rich and moist dark chocolate cake that’s perfect for any occasion, delivering an unforgettable chocolate experience.

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting as desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try using melted dark chocolate instead of cocoa powder. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
