  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Introduce the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Pour in the boiling water and stir until the batter is uniform.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Frost with chocolate frosting and serve.

Notes
