A delightful and simple lemon and cream cheese puff pastry braid, perfect for brunch or dessert.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface.
  4. Cut slits along the edges of the pastry.
  5. Spread the lemon and cream cheese mixture down the center of the pastry.
  6. Fold the slits over the filling, alternating sides to create a braid effect.
  7. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let the braid cool for a few minutes and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes
