A sweet and spicy dish with crispy chicken and a flavorful glaze, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the boneless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Once you have uniform chunks, coat the chicken pieces generously with cornstarch.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces to the hot skillet and cook until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  3. While your chicken is sizzling, take a moment to whip up the firecracker sauce by combining minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha in a mixing bowl.
  4. Once your chicken is golden and crispy, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Give everything a good stir and let it cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens up and coats the chicken beautifully.
  5. Now for a pop of color and flavor! Garnish your Firecracker Chicken with freshly chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
  6. Serve your luscious Firecracker Chicken hot over rice or alongside your favorite veggies.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-frying the chicken. Don’t skimp on the garnishes for added flavors.
