Delicious and healthier churro bites made in an air fryer, capturing the joy of traditional churros without the guilt.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Whisk together the whole wheat flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Mix together the applesauce, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until a cohesive dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Spray the dough balls lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Place the balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Roll the warm bites in coconut sugar and cinnamon if desired.
