Delightful, bite-sized churros with a healthy twist, made with whole wheat flour and naturally sweetened with coconut sugar.

  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

  • Sugar and cinnamon mixture for coating

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and coconut sugar until well blended.
  2. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the almond milk, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract together until smooth and incorporated.
  3. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined to create a soft dough.
  4. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C), ensuring it’s hot and ready for the churros.
  5. Form Dough Bites: Scoop the dough and form it into small, bite-sized pieces.
  6. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the churro bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
  7. Air Fry for Perfect Crisp: Cook the churro bites for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown, turning them halfway through for even cooking.
  8. Prepare Sugar Coating: While they are cooking, mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for coating.
  9. Coat the Bites: Remove the churro bites from the air fryer, and immediately toss them in the sugar-cinnamon mixture while they’re still warm.
