Delight in the nostalgia of crunchy homemade Cheez-Its, filled with sharp cheddar flavor and baked to perfection.

  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons ice water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the shredded cheddar cheese, flour, butter, salt, paprika, and garlic powder in a food processor until coarse crumbs form.
  3. Form the dough by adding ice water gradually and pulsing until the mixture forms a cohesive ball.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into 1-inch squares and poke a hole in the center of each square.
  6. Bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are golden and crackers are crisp.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. Refresh in the oven if they lose crunch.
