Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cookie dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Layer the cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.
  9. Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let them cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Experiment with flavor variations like mint chocolate chips or salted caramel.
