Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain it and set aside.
  3. Sauté the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is browned.
  4. Add the marinara sauce to the sautéed meat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Mix the ricotta cheese with the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  6. Build your layers by starting with half of the spaghetti at the bottom of a baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce, then half of the ricotta mixture.
  7. Repeat the layering once more with the remaining ingredients and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
