A comforting dish of layered spaghetti, marinara sauce, and cheese that brings the best of Italian flavors to your table.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jars (26 ounces each) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, and garlic, cooking until the beef is browned.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Layer in a baking dish, half of the spaghetti, followed by the meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers, ending with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For variations, add sautéed vegetables or substitute ground beef with lentils for a vegetarian option.
