Delightful homemade Italian meatballs that are simple yet bursting with flavor, perfect for any family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, fresh parsley, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Cook the meatballs in batches, turning occasionally until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Serve the meatballs generously topped with marinara sauce.

Notes

Let the meatballs cool slightly after cooking to enhance their flavor. For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for the beef and pork.
