Delightful oatmeal raisin cookies that are chewy, hearty, and reminiscent of childhood memories in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon in another bowl. Gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the oats and raisins until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space to spread.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool on wire racks before enjoying.

Notes

For softer cookies, remove them from the oven when the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
