Ingredients

  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
  • 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (optional for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Roll out one pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Mix the cherry pie filling with sugar, lemon juice, and almond extract.
  4. Pour the cherry filling into the pie crust.
  5. Add the second pie crust on top and crimp the edges to seal.
  6. Vent the top crust by cutting slits for steam to escape.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  8. Cool before serving to allow the filling to set.
