A tender, juicy ribeye steak with a deliciously crispy crust enhanced by a flavorful garlic and rosemary rub.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks, about 1 inch thick (approximately 1 lb each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Choose ribeye steaks about 1 inch thick for their excellent marbling.
  2. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  3. Combine olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper, then rub this mixture over both steaks.
  4. Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) for baking after searing.
  5. Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot and sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Add butter to the skillet during the last minute of searing and baste the steaks.
  7. Transfer the hot skillet with the steaks directly into the preheated oven and bake for 6-10 minutes.
  8. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes.

Notes

For a more flavorful steak, marinate in the garlic and rosemary mixture for a few hours or overnight. Always let your steak rest for maximum juiciness.
