Delicious pasta shells stuffed with a savory mixture of ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and gooey cheese, inspired by classic Philly cheesesteak flavors.

Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the vegetables in a large skillet with olive oil over medium heat until softened.
  4. Brown the ground beef in the skillet; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Mix the cooked beef mixture, ricotta cheese, and half of the provolone cheese in a bowl.
  6. Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
  7. Prepare the baking dish by spreading marinara sauce at the bottom and placing the stuffed shells on top.
  8. Add the remaining provolone cheese over the shells.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes covered with foil, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Enhance the flavors with your choice of cheese or additional vegetables.
