  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Whisk the flour into the hot oil and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
  3. Incorporate the vegetable broth slowly while whisking to avoid lumps.
  4. Mix in the soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt, adjusting seasoning as needed.
  5. Thicken the gravy for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

Leftover gravy can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For a smooth consistency, whisk in vegetable broth or water if it thickens too much.
