Delicious and comforting oatmeal cookies that can be customized with raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts.

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one by one and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Gradually mix into the wet mixture.
  5. Gently fold in the rolled oats along with any optional ingredients.
  6. Using rounded tablespoons, drop cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown and centers are still soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
