Indulge in these rich and slightly chewy Red Velvet Brownies, merging the decadence of chocolate with the vibrant allure of red velvet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Melt the butter and mix in the sugar until well blended. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until everything is just combined. If you’re feeling indulgent, fold in the white chocolate chips at this stage.
  5. Pour the luscious red batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.

Notes

These brownies are delicious alone but pair wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce. To store, keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
